The Postman (1997) is an epic post-apocalyptic adventure film set in a neo-Western version of the United States in 2013, sixteen years after apocalyptic events have devastated civilization. The story follows a nomadic drifter, played by Kevin Costner, who stumbles upon a postman's uniform and inadvertently becomes a symbol of hope for a restored America. As he travels between isolated communities, he inspires people to believe in the possibility of rebuilding society.
