Released in 2000, Possessed is a horror film inspired by real-life events and based on the 1993 book by Thomas B. Allen. The story follows Father William Bowdern, a World War II veteran struggling with his past and grappling with feelings of guilt and trauma. When he is called upon to help a young boy named Robbie, who exhibits signs of supernatural affliction, Bowdern finds himself confronted with a chilling test of faith. As strange occurrences escalate around Robbie, and traditional methods fail, Bowdern must navigate his doubts and seek permission to perform a rare exorcism in an attempt to save the boy. The film examines themes of faith, redemption, and the unseen forces that can affect our lives.
